Hints: WK means Working Groups; the standard in not released yet and a group of experts is working on. You may find a number after the E-number; this is the year of last review, e.g. E2698−18 indicates that the standard was reviewed in 2018. All ASTM standards have to be reviewed after five years; a responsible person - the point of contact (PoC) - reviews the standard and update it to acutal technology status and removes errors; then the reviewed standard has to go for ballot within a limited time. One negative vote can stop the standard being released, so there is a big force for consensus.
